Elephant seals at Ano Nuevo beach in
January. The females give birth, then breed again. The 15 foot
5,000 males, wait for up to 3 months while they violently fight it out for
breeding rights. In the meantime, nobody eats or drinks - how's that
for love! (This diet really works as the males lose up to 1,500
